Towards the end of 1992 Rostislav asked me to transcribe the family chronicle on the computer. The basis was a typed text with wrong types. Some of the letters were very hard to read and the resolution of 3 and 5 was mostly just random. It could therefore be that these digits were confused somewhere, even though I tried to find the necessary information in the remaining material. The substrates were usually cut several times and re-glued with the inserts. There was overlapping of texts and often different information had to be added from other documents. The first 20 pages or so of the text were still read and corrected by Rostislav. While discussing the text, we agreed that I should make some minor formal corrections to the text. The insertions and additions often resulted in the creation of excessively long and unclear sentences. These and obvious errors I had to edit. I would like to point out that unpleasant and un-English expressions occurring in the text were deliberately left out. They are expressions conditioned either by historical sources or by the local dialect. Specific local and dialectal expressions and links have been retained in order to preserve the particular character of the text.
Rostislav died after a long illness during which he only occasionally gave me advice. The history of the various branches of the family ends in documents at different times. Most often between 1946 and 1960. Only my branch Rostislav completed up to the seventies. Perhaps because he wanted me to rewrite the texts.
Rostislav died on September 10, 1993. So the final editing of the text was left to me. I did what I could.
